WIHO vs. Manila Ice Vixens

We had our first game of the Mega Ice 5's tonight against the team from Manila.  I would say that the Manila team has improved a lot over the last year and they played well tonight.  Their goalie, Anita Antolin, played extremely well.  In the third period we had a power play and bombarded Antolin.  Although a bit shell shocked, Antolin kept the puck out and made one spectacular save (that stands out in my memory).

Our WIHO team hustled with everyone trying hard.  We won 5-0.  Tomorrow night we're having a team dinner before our game to get to know everyone.  Some people are familiar and some I just met for the first time tonight.  Not a bad start to the tournament.  I know our team will improve as we gel during the week.  It should be a lot of fun.

I'm off to bed soon.  We arrived back late last night and I only slept for 2 hours.  Ditto for the previous night.  I am very much looking forward to being horizontal...

Have lots to post, photos to download etc.  Will try to get to some of it this week but with 5 games in 5 days plus all of the usual stuff (and swimming lessons beginning this week as well), it might have to wait until after the tournament is over (after Saturday).

Hi there it's me again who made the comment from last year's World Ice Hockey 5's post you made :) thanks so much for the positive feedback, hopefully this will pull the team together and improve Philippine Ice Hockey. I'm sure Manila will be inspired with HK's progress. take care!
